Violators of the following rules will have a strike put on their account. Rack up three strikes and you will be banned. If your infraction is severe enough, however, we reserve the right to inflict a ban sooner.
1) Treat Others as you want to be treated
Always a good rule of thumb to operate by. If you wouldn't want someone to say it to you, then you don't say it to anyone else. Be respectful to each other, even if your opinions differ.
Bigotry, including but not limited to, racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, etc will not be tolerated.
2) Let people have fun and mind your business.
If you don't like a certain ship or a character that's fine but you leave the people who do alone. Likewise, if you see someone post a dissertation in their own thread of why they don't like a character, you just avoid that thread and go elsewhere in the forum. Start a thread of your own about how great that character is, if you want. People are entitled to their opinions on fiction and you don't get to start a fight about it. Anyone found going out of their way to stir shit up will get a strike. That said, if you're open to debate and everyone can remain civil, that's certainly allowed (please specify that in your post).
2) Post in the correct location!
Before you start a new thread, please double check where you are in the forum so you're not posting that in-depth lore dissection essay in the art gallery or something.
3) NO SPOILERS IN THE NON-SPOILER SECTIONS OF THE FORUM
Here in the forum, 'spoilers' are defined as any official material released by BioWare about Dragon Age: The Veilguard that wasn't in the Official Reveal Trailer or the Official Gameplay Reveal videos. Repeat offenses WILL result in a ban.
Note: this does not apply to the Vows & Vengeance podcast as that series takes place before the start of the new game.
4) Swearing is allowed (but lets not get crazy with it).
Swearing is fine, goodness knows I enjoy a good f-bomb, but keep rule 1 in mind and lets refrain from directly insulting people. Slurs of any kind are never acceptable.
5) No explicit sexual content.
I'm not against it as a general rule of thumb, but as I don't currently have any tools in place to moderate for 18+ subforums it's against the rules for the time being. Mature subjects are fine, but no going into all the naughty details.
If you see someone violating these rules, simply click on the little gear at the top right corner of the post where the infraction occurred and select 'report post'. Write a brief summary of what happened then submit and we'll take a look asap!
